Hi there! My name is Kara (she/her/hers) and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Candidate (LPCC) with a passion for helping young adults navigate life’s challenges. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Illinois State University and a Master’s in Counseling from Capella University. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and identity exploration, and I believe in the power of creating a safe, supportive space where people feel truly seen and heard.
My approach is rooted in mindfulness, compassion, and practical coping strategies. I strive to meet each client with openness and empathy, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside people as they move toward healing and self-discovery.

Donovan Durrough, LPCC
I have a passion for serving marginalized communities, which has been driving factor for why I joined the mental health field. I'm passionate about working with BIPOC/LGBTQIA as well as supporting folks in recovery from SUD related issues.
I believe you're the expert of your story, and counseling gives me the ability to provide a space free of judgement. I've helped folks navigate a variety of problems ranging from substance abuse, IPV, and multiple forms of trauma. I practice IFS informed care and utilize motivational interviewing, REBT, etc to find a good fit to address your needs.
